30% Calcium Fertigation Product (Soluble powder) - Nitrate and Chloride Free

For treatment of Bitter Pit, Blossom End Rot, Albedo Breakdown, Tip Burn, and other Calcium deficiencies.NTS: Eez-Range

PRODUCT INFORMATION:

  • FERT-CAL provides quick, efficient, safe, and cost-effective way of treating serious calcium deficiency disorders in most crops.
  • FERT-CAL is totally Nitrate and Chloride free.
  • FERT-CAL is an organic fertigation Calcium product.
  • FERT-CAL is organic acid-chelate based.
  • FERT-CAL has a formulation that facilitates efficient and prompt uptake as well as translocation in the plant tissue.
  • FERT-CAL is an all-Australian product.

CALCIUM DEFICIENCIES:

  • Are widespread.
  • Are very common, even in soils that are very high in Calcium.
  • Unlike Trace Elements, Calcium is a Major Element. To correct its deficiencies by foliar applications alone, many applications are required at high rates of application.
  • May be the result of other nutritional imbalances, especially high levels of Nitrogen, Magnesium, & Phosphorus.
  • Are difficult to treat using traditional soil Calcium fertilizer applications as Calcium Nitrate and Muriate add unwanted Nitrogen and Chloride, respectively.

PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH CALCIUM FERTILIZERS:

  • Traditional Calcium fertilizers are salts of Nitrates and/or Chlorides. The former is inefficient; the latter is toxic as well as inefficient.
  • Non-traditional Calcium fertilizers (such as Thio-sulphate) have a low concentration and are not cost effective.
  • Value-added “micronized” Calcium products are indeed suspensions of insoluble Calcium carbonate (ie Lime) and/or Calcium Sulphate (ie Gypsum). Their insolubility makes them highly unavailable.
  • Chelated (ie synthetic) forms do not easily release the Calcium to plants. They are also very expensive.
  • Foliar Calcium applications alone are often not enough.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

FERT-CAL is suitable for all crops. The general rule of thumb is to apply it late and/or during periods of Calcium stress. The following is a guideline for some crop categories:

Crop Amount When to apply
Apples 1-2 kg/Ha Starting fruit set
Brassica 1-2 kg/Ha Early head formation
Capsicum, Tomato 1.5-2.5 kg/Ha 1-2 weeks before 1st pick
Carrot, Onion, Potato 1-2 kg/Ha 2-3 weeks before digging
Citrus 2-3 kg/Ha 4-6 weeks before picking
Ginger 1-2 kg/Ha Early rhizome formation
Stone Fruit & Cherry 1-2 kg/Ha After stone hardening
Strawberry 1-2 kg/Ha Starting first pick
Vineyards 1-2 kg/Ha Starting bunch closure

FERT-CAL IS A FERTIGATION PRODUCTION AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR FOLIAR APPLICATION

Applications can be repeated monthly or as needed. For more specific rates, seek the advice of supplier and/or refer to soil/leaf data.

COMPATIBILITY:

FERT-CAL is compatible with most fertilizers and other soil-applied chemicals including Fulvic Acids. Incompatible with Phosphorus and Humic Acids. Check for compatibility before mixing.
